Autism New Jersey Seeks Proposals for 41st Annual Conference

Autism New Jersey is seeking proposal for our 41st Annual Conference to be held at Harrah’s in Atlantic City on October 19-20, 2023.
Deadline for submissions: February 13, 2023.
The conference will be an in-person event with some virtual elements. We expect attendance to exceed 1,200 as it has every year for decades.
Proposals Sought
We are looking for submissons that address a wide range of abilities and support needs across the lifespan, attendee types (e.g., educators, behavior analysts, psychologists, social workers, speech-language pathologists, parents), and difficulty levels from beginner to advanced. Proposals should include evidence-based practices supplemented by real-life examples.
In addition, attendee feedback from 2022 indicated that proposals on any of the following topics would be particularly well received:
- Strategies for educators working with students with autism in public school settings
- Advanced topics for BCBAs
- Addressing severe challenging behavior, healthcare, or mental healthcare needs of individuals with autism
- DEI topics
- Topics that include autistic perspectives
Review Process
Each proposal will be reviewed, and notification of approval status will be provided by March 2023. Workshops are 75 minutes, and two-part workshops will be considered. First-time presenters with Autism New Jersey may submit only one application and must include a letter of reference addressing presentation skills and relevant expertise. In general, each workshop will have one or two presenters. Those wishing to submit a panel presentation should contact conference@autismnj.org in advance of submitting a proposal.
