First Responders will be Better Equipped to Serve Individuals with Disabilities in an Emergency

The floodwaters that impacted many families last month in New Jersey, and the impending hurricane to the south,  are good reminders of the importance of being prepared for emergencies. NJ Register Ready is the state’s voluntary special needs registry in case of disaster or emergency that is administered by the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM).

It allows people with disabilities and their families, friends, and associates to provide their names and information so it can be shared with emergency response agencies. Registering on NJ Register Ready ensures that emergency responders are prepared to serve people with disabilities in the event of a disaster or other emergency. Register today>>
