Ambassador of the Week
Each week of April, we will be highlighting an “Ambassador of the Week” for their exceptional work in raising awareness and growing acceptance. Read their inspiring stories:
Loew Orthodontics, Flemington, NJ
This week we're proud to profile our friends at Loew Orthodontics. We had the chance to interview Theresa Saracinello, Professional Relations Coordinator about their involvement in our program. Theresa's godson is David Hitzel (pictured below with Theresa), the son of The Ride for Autism committee member Tim Hitzel. Theresa's personal connection to autism, as well as the practice's growing number of patients with special needs, inspired them to become Ambassadors.
How long have you been a part of the Ambassador Program?
The Loew Orthodontics Team is proudly celebrating our 6th year as Autism Awareness Ambassadors! We love Autism New Jersey and all the folks who devote so much time to this organization's success! Fundraising during the month of April and spreading awareness all year long is one small way that we can do our part to educate our community.
Why is Autism Awareness important to Loew Orthodontics?
Our office is known for its exceptional patient care, providing orthodontic treatment to patients ages 2 to 92. Over the past 15+ years the practice has noticed an increase in the number of patients with difficulty in communicating, having social, sensory and/or behavioral sensitivities, as well as other special needs.
The doctors and office staff take enormous pride in treating everyone with kindness, compassion and patience. Every child is unique and Loew Orthodontics strives to give them the best possible experience. They are devoted to educating and helping fellow NJ families affected by autism.
How is Loew Orthodontics growing acceptance in their community?
The month of April is special to our practice! Our team has organized an Annual Bowling for Autism event to raise funds and awareness for Autism New Jersey. This year, we decided to switch venues, moving to the Branchburg Sports Complex. On April 7, patients, along with their families and friends enjoyed an evening filled with unlimited laser tag and other interactive games. The kids had a blast challenging their doctors in some friendly competition.
"Our goal is to lead by example….
treat others with kindness, patience and acceptance in order to grow awareness."
Over the years, the practice via their annual fundraiser has raised nearly $20,000 for Autism New Jersey. Thank you for raising awareness and growing acceptance, Loew Orthodontics!
